Leave This Town

Two years on the road led Daughtry to promise a “more gritty sound” for their second album, Leave This Town. Dying to hear it? So were we, so we got our hands on it and we’re leaking this thing right now on MTV.com for a week before you can buy it. Listen to the whole thing, from opening track “You Don’t Belong” and single “No Surprise” (written with Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger), through to the closing notes of “Call Your Name.” If there was ever any question about the appeal of Daughtry — led by American Idol finalist Chris Daughtry — it was answered by the band’s quadruple-platinum, Grammy-nominated, self-titled debut. But with all that time on the road, Daughtry has become a band to be reckoned with, for sure. Leave This Town reunites Chris and his bandmates — bassist Josh Paul, drummer Joey Barnes, and guitarists Brian Craddock and Josh Steely — with Daughtry producer Howard Benson, who worked in the studio with the band in Los Angeles. Fans of the band will not be disappointed in Leave This Town, which picks up right where Daughtry left off. This is a band on a mission. Listen to the proof, right here, right now.
